More poems about the Sun and sky

        HAVE I UPSET YOU
Sun! Have I upset you in some way?
For you have not shown your face today,
I saw you rise in all your glowing beauty,
Then dear friend, you vanished from me.

No more than an hour you shone bright,
Then all the clouds covered you from sight,
Was it something I did or words I said
That seemed to send you right back to bed?

We all miss you when we don’t see you shine,
Snow does not glitter, bare trees seem to pine,
A winter day without the sun is hard to take,
Before your short walk is over give us a break.

Peep through the clouds, show your warm face,
There’s no wind to blow clouds at a great pace,
Just a layer of dullness all around to be seen,
It really makes you wish that snow was green.

I don’t think I have been too bad at all of late,
I am sorry if it’s me that has caused the fate
Of you not smiling down on us all today,
But maybe I’ll see you set as you go away.
