HEAVY RAIN
Did you hear the rain the other night?
It came pouring down with all it’s might.
Causing mini floods and puddles everywhere,
Increasing the humidity in the chilly air.

By morning there was no let up, still pouring down,
It was the last holiday of summer, all wore a frown,
No fishing or berry picking, no family picnic planned,
In fact the place was getting short of firm dry ground.

Yet almost when too late the sun showed her face,
It was too late to do anything or to go any place,
Yet after the sun’s short sojourn the rain came again
In torrents of darkness like a dream of hurt and pain.
