SUNSETS
You may see a thousand sunsets,
no two ever the same,
Some just classed as kind of mediocre,
some could be of fame,
They are best when white clouds
turn to vivid shades
Of every colour, then paints the lakes
and lonely glades
With a blaze of beauty that never lingers
quite long enough to capture,
But all to fast the colours change and slowly
loose that first rapture.
Tonight I watched the sun set over a still lake
a picture of pure delight,
Even the eastern sky was kissed by the vivid
shades so very bright.
Now before I close my eyes in sweet restful
sleep Ill remember to say,
A word of grateful thanks to a loving God
who sent that sight my way.
