JEWELS
Today I saw a rainbow draped across the sky,
The colours were brilliant as I went slowly by,
As you looked there were two more in line
I had never before seen three ever combine.
The rain was falling while the sun shone bright
Every little rain drop seemed to glisten with light,
Then slowly the rain stopped and in the sunshine
Raindrops were miniatures rainbows looking fine.
A necklace of jewels hanging in the warming sun,
Reflections of the flowers and trees in every one,
The rainbow arched in splendour across dark clouds
Yet only a few looked up among the hurrying crowds.
