DANCE WITH THE SNOW
I love to dance along with the snow flakes,
Swirl and twist with each delicate one,
Hold them in my cold gloved hand and see
Each pattern made in a very different way.

I love to watch them twist every which way,
Then land so gently on the hardened ground.
Flake upon flake, falling in grace and beauty
As they bury the earth to protect it from harm.

I love to walk, feel the wind bite my face,
Step with booted feet, almost with reverence
On the newly fallen snow, so white and clean,
Watch the children laugh and play so well.

I love to hear the quietness when snow has ceased,
The hushed world that snow has brought our way,
I love to see the moon beams glitter on it at night,
And the northern lights reflected in their sweet beauty.

Come snow, fall fast and free, cover the dingy earth,
For I want to dance and play with you this dull day,
I want to sense the silence you bring, the beauty you give,
And see the moon sparkle and glisten like precious jewels.

Fall gently, fall fast, large, plump flakes, fall in abundance
Bring your cold purity to this despondent world of ours,
Kiss each branch, drape yourself gracefully over all things,
Come winter wonderland and fill our world with white.
