HINTS
Early this morning gave us a hint of lovely frost so light,
Just enough to make stem and flowers sparkle bright,
Enough frost to line the veins of leaves with silver lace,
Until the sun shone warmer with her smiling face.
The windows had frost patterns, spider webs shone
And glittered, an early promise of better things to come.
I wish the sun had not been quite so warm this morning
So that the vision could have stayed longer at my calling.
Soon will come the winter in all her ice cold beauty,
The needed snow to cover mountain tops for all to see,
The parched ground caked in layer upon layer of snow,
So when spring comes, into the earth the moisture will go.
Did you see the sparling leaves before the sun was warm?
Did you catch the glimpse of frost on a leaves form?
Or capture the beauty of the pattern on the window,
Just a hint of the things to come, and much more too.
