SUMMER GARDEN
There is something special about a garden in full bloom.
When the summer sun warms the back, colours pale cheeks,
And you hear the chatter of birds as they perch high in the trees,
A sweet fragrance fills the evening air, wafting you off to sleep.
When the summer sun warms the back, colours pale cheeks,
Winter is all but forgotten as you gaze at the flowers everywhere,
A sweet fragrance fills the evening air, wafting you off to sleep,
Then through the open window you hear the night jar sing.
Winter is all but forgotten as you gaze at the flowers everywhere,
Look how brightly they blend like a multi-coloured carpet,
A gentle breeze whispers to you of many warm days ahead,
A sweet fragrance fills the evening air, wafting you off to sleep.
Look how brightly they blend, like a multi-coloured carpet,
These summer flowers so full of beauty help heal all ills,
A sweet fragrance fills the evening air, wafting you off to sleep,
And joy fills your heart because of all the beauty to be seen.
I sometimes wonder what they say in such melodic tones
As you hear the chatter of birds as they perch in the high trees,
In warm summer life is lived to the full, and nature is complete,
And there is something very special about a garden in full bloom.
