PRESS ON
Sometimes we become discouraged,
        not wanting to carry on,
It seems as though our life’s battle
        can never ever be won.
We need a long stick at it attitude
        to endure to the end
But it is not easy, Satan will have a dig
        or two you can depend,
If he thinks we are doing something good
he will try and find a way
To stop the work, try and slow us down
        make us fritter time away.
We will only pass this way once we know,
        everyone will surely agree,
We’ll have to answer one day in heaven
then we may be able to see
Just how cunning Satan was, not thinking
that he that led us astray,
Thinking we’d just had enough of this
        or that anyway.
So we’ll try and overcome the feelings
        of this despondency
That Satan has cast in front of our old,
        tired feet and be free
To go on striving, serving any way we can
        in this little place,
Then hope when our work is completed, see
a smile on the Master’s face.
