SONNET 52 PRAYERS
Whence comes testing? If, when we kneel to pray
The answer is there, no anxious waiting,
No thoughtful muse, no contemplating.
If your prayers were answered that very day
How much faith would come to humans that way?
Faith increases and testimonies growing,
There would be no need of constant hoping,
Rather stagnant would our hope and faith stay.
Prayer is a bond of communion, God’s way
Of loving His children, gently testing,
So through prayer, to His will often bending,
Teaches us to listen as well as pray.
Then our humble heart and soul His to mold,
For sweet prayers are the entrance to the fold.
