UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
As parents do we have the unconditional love
That should dwell within our human heart?
Do we mold with gentle care the individuality
Of each child, so as to grow up to do his part?
Do we let them choose? Or do we force their will to ours?
Our God of love will never force us to His holy home.
He gives us the choice, yet we may force a good road
On a stubborn child, not allowing him to roam.
Direction is pointed out, feet set upon the path,
A map placed in their learning, seeking hand,
That is the only way, the way of love and care,
The way to help them find the Promised Land.
If we bend and break the will and spirit of a child,
Force them to submit to what we know is right,
We cannot really love that dear child lent to us
From our God, who is full of truth and light.
Unconditional love will teach and show each day,
Will set an example and guide and lead the way.
No act they do should diminish our love for them,
For we are all God's children, just teach them to obey.
Lead them with a loving, tender hand that cares,
Show them love, let them know you understand,
Help them find the peace that the gospel brings.
Always be willing to let go their striving hand.
