LOOKING BACK
The other day while browsing through pictures old,
We found our wedding pictures, and it was sad to say
That many of those with us had departed this mortal life,
Many friends and loved ones gone to a better way.
We really should not weep or be sad of heart
As the living ones grow fewer day by day,
But live a worthy life so we are ready to depart,
Because we never know when our trumpet will play.
Play that last farewell, calling us back home,
There to meet those we love who have gone ahead.
Could we meet our God? if ours was the next face to go
From that old wedding picture, now over our bed.
Each day I look and marvel at those I love,
Of all the memories strong and sweet, oh happy days!
Then add to those the new loved ones that fill our lives
How blessed we are to have so much to love, always.
I will not weep when souls pass on to a better life.
I will shout for joy when a new friend is made.
I will shout for joy when more children come.
Heaven will be full of friends, so Ill not be afraid.
