CHERISHED MOMENTS
Cherished moments may be as simple as can be,
Bouncing a new baby on a once long empty knee.
Holding hands whilst walking beside a moonlit lake.
The whole family together all wanting bread to make.
Teaching a new puppy how to fetch, beg and sit.
Smiling as a new baby blanket you start to knit.
Seeing love-light in your dear partners eyes so bright,
Even brighter after many years when it first came to light
A nicely set table, best china dishes and candles aglow,
For no special reason except just to let the family know
Just how much you love them, a cherished moment share,
Or sitting around a fire, the whole family together there.
Planting a garden in love and then waiting to see
All the good food and flowers God then sends to me.
The feel of gentle rain on your face after a dry spell,
And then listening to the trees, and what tales it can tell.
Gather together many cherished moments every day,
Share them and remember them when far, far away
From family and friends, sadness will soon depart
As those special cherished moments fill your heart.
