More poems about Family Life

        LATE STARTERS
We were in our twenties when we tied the knot,
For over three years children we did not begot,
So we were late in starting than our friends around,
But when kiddies came a renewed youth we found.

Now our youngest daughter married first of all,
About a month later our eldest daughter did call
“I’ll be getting married in a month” so you see
Of both our lovely daughters we were now free.

The baby in the family, our youngest little boy,
Went to serve a mission imagine our sweet joy,
When he returned both our boys still stayed home,
Must have been the cook so not wanting to roam.

The baby boy now married seven years this week,
Two beautiful little girls, now a tiny boy they seek,
Due at any moment, then that will make it eight
Wonderful and best grandchildren to this very date.

Our eldest grandson, sixteen to day, so it means
He can apply for his driving licence it seems,
The next is only six months behind you se,
Then the next growing thing, datin’ will be.

One son still not married he is much later than us
In starting his own happy family, we don’t fuss.
We don’t feel much older but we must be getting on
To have a grandson with a licence when all’s said and done.
