COMFORT FOR THE SICK
Running a nasty fever looking rather grey
I think he wondered if he’d live for another day,
So I tucked him up in Dave and Sharon’s blanket,
Played Heather and Wayne’s mousy Christmas duet,
Gave him Becky and Shawn’s little mouse to cuddle,
He felt all cosy and warm as he did sleepily huddle.
His face was pale, but he looked peaceful lying there,
I went for the camera, a cute picture, the flash glare
Did not awake him, it seemed the whole family
In some small way had helped in his quick recovery.
But isn’t that what families are for even when far away?
And we will have a picture to remember for many a day.
