SINGING
The child sang as she played, such a sweet sound,
The world, at the moment, an opera star was found,
Do I hear an angel sing her mother kindly said
Or was it my own little Mary singing instead?

The child’s eyes danced with joy and happiness,
We’ll struggle so you can have song classes I guess,
At eight she started to learn how properly to sing,
Oh, how much joy that singer to others did bring.

Now if that mother had scolded the child that day
Sent her sadly to her room in a different way,
Would she have ever reached her potential at all,
Would she have known the joy of a curtain call?

Don’t stop a child from singing even if they can’t sing,
For you never may know what great joy music can bring,
A singing child is a happy child don’t take that away,
But sing along with them, and so brighten up your day.
