HAPPY MEMORIES
Swarming around the chocolate tin waiting your turn,
Hoping the ones left are the ones for which you yearn,
Then making pretty cups around your finger small
With the coloured and silver paper, nicest of them all.

The Christmas Jimmy Mouse story told on many a night,
Seeing each child’s eyes full of adventure and delight.
Making a big Jelly with a can of Mandarin oranges in,
Always a treat and on every face put a happy grin.

The memories of sticky floors and the stirring of the jam,
The scalding of the jars, matching lids as best as you can,
Hoping that it will set, and that the jars will all seal tight,
Then all the washing to make the kitchen clean and bright.

Remember the canning of fruit, peaches, plums and apricots?
Picking them in the warm fall sun and eating lots and lots,
The line up of the family each one doing a different task,
Family togetherness at it’s best, what more could we ask.

These memories will help keep us a true forever family,
With the binding love that will last throughout all eternity,
Keeping faces smiling as we remember the joys gone by
And hear the sound of the laughter in the breezes soft sigh.
