BAKING DAY
This morning I cooked up quite a storm,
Banana bread muffins and mince tarts,
Apple pies that smelt so good when warm.
They say a way to get into all mens hearts
Is feeding them well with all good things.
But there is some sacrifice done this day,
For we know the smell appetite brings.
Mouth waters and you want to eat right away,
But woe is me, these good things I cannot eat,
No banana bread or muffins, no apple pie
May be one small mince tart as a little treat,
Even thats a no, no, it makes you want to cry,
All those goodies to eat and I eat a lettuce leaf,
Doctor says my cholesterol is much to high,
Ill try and be good so as not to come to grief,
Just make the goodies, blood tests dont lie.
