IN THE DOLDRUMS
My husband’s in the doldrums he needs winds
in his sails
Gentle loving zephyrs not fierce hard blowing
stormy gales,
The winds of love and kindness to cheer
him on his way,
So that he feels much better at the end
of a long day.
The doldrums can be depressing, I’ll send
busy thoughts along,
Suggest some things to do or share a jolly,
happy little song.
Show him his great worth in life and then
constantly pray
That the dreaded doldrums will all be
blown away.
The winds of affection the winds that show you
how much you care
Hold his hand in the stillness until there is some
movement there.
Then when the sails of life are filled with the
joy of living
Carry on close together with constant, strong
forever living,
Smile and remember to always show how much
care really care
By helping t he sails of life be filled with kind
winds everywhere.
