A NASTY COLD
Its not only the nose and sinuses that get clogged with a cold,
The brain is affected, your ideas wont do what they are told,
It is more like a big block of wood your weary shoulders bare,
And of most things around you, your are not really aware.
Sniffles and drips are bad enough but it is very hard to take
When your body feels half dead and everything does ache,
Then to cap it all the wind screeches and yells and screams,
With a thick head it all piles up like a night full of bad dreams.
I went out awhile to try and blow the old cobwebs far away,
But the wind nearly blew me off my feet indoors I should stay,
My poor old nose glows bright red now, Im quite sure of that,
I hope some hot lemon and honey will take good care of that.
They say a cold should only last a day or two, I hope they are right,
I really do not want to wander around looking a terrible sight,
I dont want to stay inside too much and just moan and mope about,
Ill pretend that it is all better and let out a happy heartfelt shout.
