THE GLITTERING MAPLE LEAF
Along the silver trail we walked looking all around,
And then we saw something bright upon the ground,
A vivid red maple leaf glittering with dew,
Such a pretty sight to come right there to our view/
It looked covered in specks of silver, diamonds galore,
Multifaceted jewels a precious broach to adore,
There lying on the gravel amidst ruins so old,
I picked it up so more of the beauty to behold.
On my hand it seemed to enhance the beauty and grace
And it put a happy smile on everyones face,
The nearest maple tree was quite a distance away,
That leaf came to bless us on that special day.
Look for the simple things to bring a smile your way,
Little pockets of joy, waiting to be found each day,
A jewelled leaf or a frosted spiders web you see,
Can give you a love of nature as sweet as can be.
