More poems about Summer.

        LATE SUMMER DAYS
The weather seems to get better day after day,
Late summer sunshine comes constantly our way,
It is not too hot and with no humidity found at all
It’s a joy to be out of doors hear natures sweet call.

The birds show no sign of wanting to fly far away,
They twitter in a feeding frenzy for most of the day,
Loons still call with their haunting cry from the lake
As they seem restless ready for a long trek to make.

Wild flowers still grow in profusion everywhere to go
And still many in gardens put on a great show,
Maybe summer will not go away for quite a smile
Warding off the winter cold for many a long while.

Summer seems to be rejoicing, sing a song on the breeze
Dispelling the thoughts of winter’s extra cold long freeze,
Waves seem to laugh as they dance all over the place
That puts a smile upon any lake’s bright shining face.

Too hot days are now past and gone, perfect weather glows,
Bright blue skies greet you all day from when you arose,
The trees are still of the bright green, the frost has not as yet
Started to change their colours to reds, yellows and gold,
We are looking forward to the beauty which will be hard to be told.

Do not leave us yet oh late, gentle sweet summer days,
Hang around for awhile so we can sing out your praise,
For you bring us joy and happiness health and peace of mind,
Come, continue to bless us, continue to be gentle and kind.
