FAREWELL OUTHOUSE
Our friend has a cottage in forests deep
By a lake where wild creatures creep,
Yet there is not plumbing there at all,
So they have an outhouse where they call.
Now the other week, summer being hot,
There was a strong odour from the spot
Where sat the outhouse, they needed a cure,
Wood ash helped they knew that for sure.
A grandson feeling helpful put some down,
They were hot ashes and this caused a frown,
For, POOF! Great flames shot up quite high,
The forest is tinder dry they all in fear did cry,
Outhouse gone, but the firemen saved the day,
Saved the cottage and forest all were glad to say,
Now they have a problem when they all need to go,
The loss of the outhouse was quite a bad show.
Neighbours let them share and good came anyway
They needed a new one so now much quicker it may
Come, a little farther from the home a nice port-a-loo,
I need to go and see this new facility all bright and new.
