HOT AND MUGGY
When its very hot and muggy, at thirty nine degrees,
You have to wonder if its better than when you freeze,
You have to wear clothes as you walk about each day,
And they let us know this sticky hot weather will stay.
The fan is going round fast to try and move the air,
It is also a little cooler in the basement down stairs,
But it is not really worth the effort of getting down
For the sweat drips off you and you think you will drown ,
The mall is a nice place to go to, or to a restaurant to eat,
Where there is a significant reduction in the oppressive heat,
Today is our anniversary so we are off on a special date,
We wont have to cook or wash up, in the heat a harsh fate.
You can come and join us as long as you pay your fair share,
Then feel the cool of the air-conditioning blowing everywhere,
Even if we do not eat a lot that wont matter too much at all,
It will be easier to breath, much less perspiration will then fall,
Although I love the summer, but when it comes like a shock
After a cold May, to the human body the heat makes you rock,
Legs feel like jelly for its such an effort to try and walk,
I am sure this year about this June, many years we will talk.
