        GIVING RIDES
Quite a few years ago when the children young
Loading the car to overflowing was not wrong,
Our elders and at least nine happy teen friends
Piled into our Brookwood wagon end to end.

There was no law of seat belts, it really sat six
But many needed rides or they would be in a fix,
So squash and squeeze we fit many young folks in,
I’m sure not to give rides would be the greater sin.

Now the law is different but seats can be filled
To help out fellow men is what God has willed.
Father will not mind how big or small your car,
But how many friends you carried near or far.

Take someone to the hospital, take one to church,
Never ever leave anyone that needs a ride in the lurch,
Do not be selfish, share the gifts given from above,
Give rides willingly share a little of Father’s love.
