More poems about Months.

        A COOL MAY
There is an old saying about a cool May,
I am wracking my brains very hard today
To try and remember, which month would be
Enriched and blessed with the sun’s company.

A cool grey May brings a good harvest time,
Was one of my gran’s old sayings now mine,
But there’s one about a month that would radiate,
If May was cool and spring came much too late.

Wearing a sweater while weeding and planting
Instead of being hot and for water often panting,
It could be that the fall would stay long and warm
So the harvest be great no crops come to harm.

I’ll make one up! When cool and grey the month of May,
In October we will praise and bless many a sunny day,
Warm sunshine and the morning frosts few and far between,
So that after a cool May, October is a perfect royal queen.
