More poems about Beauty

CARRIED AFAR
I would love to glide on the winnowing wind above the trees,
Be carried weightless along by some happy playful breeze,
Like some leaf in the fall, or a bird upon a resting wing,
Don’t you think that this would be such a wonderful thing?

I wonder how far I would wander on the gusty wind that blew?
The places I would see below that before I never ever knew,
Would there be spots where I would want to go and hide away,
Some beauteous place where I for awhile would long to stay.

Maybe on some island surrounded by an azure peaceful sea,
With pretty coral wreaths and sand as white as it can be
Or in the forest glen when true nature claims as her own,
I just think of things I would see if I could really roam.

I cannot be carried like a leaf or glide on powerful wing,
But my imagination can soar until my heart does sing
Aloud for joy for all the beauty that is found everywhere,
Come hold hands with me and ever soar through the air.
