        A TRIBUTE TO JOSEPH SMITH
THE PROPHET
There was a time appointed by God in heaven above
When the truth should be restored, know of His love,
A young boy was chosen, Joseph Smith was his name
And from that moment the world would not be the same.

For that teenage boy wondered which church was right,
Went into a grove of trees and prayed with all his might,
A vision of great magnitude was shown to him that day,
And all truths and knowledge began to come his way.

Joseph Smith the prophet the last dispensation called in,
Persecuted from that day on, but God’s truth would win,
Translated the Book of Mormon, returned true authority
By the power of the priesthood, now given to all men free.

The light of this dispensation has made the world bright,
But it has also shaken Satan who tries with all His might
To stop the truth from growing, turning good men astray.
Although dear Joseph was murdered light did not fade away.

From fourteen to only thirty nine, served with all his might,
Brought truth and wisdom to guide men into the true light,
We never can tell what good he did until we meet one day
And thank him personally, as long as we tread the right way.
