More poems about Service
THANK YOU
Thank you to the person who makes baskets for
those who are ill,
I will have been seven days in hospital and
had my fill.
I long to soak in the tub and wash my wild
looking hair,
And that sweet gift basket was a real joy for
me beyond compare.
To wash and condition my hair and soak in
soothing oil.
For about half an hour myself I did
truly spoil,
I was told you want to remain anonymous
so let it be,
But your thoughtfulness will stay with me
through eternity.
When the basket is empty, the bath tub goodies
all gone,
Ill use the basket to fill up again and pass the
service on
To someone who is feeling ill or needs cheering
for awhile,
And maybe their face will light, like mine, into
a big smile.
