THE VALUE OF FREE AGENCY
Free agency a great force in every human life,
We can choose the wrong path and bring strife,
Each moment we can make the wise choice,
Then at the end of the day we can rejoice.
For to use our agency in wisdom truth and light
Gives us more freedom to ever choose the right,
We see the way before us as clear as it can be,
As we walk along the path to heaven for eternity.
Yet we are left to choose any way we want to go,
Agency is to help us progress and stronger grow,
If there was only one choice spineless we would be,
Not wise enough to reach heaven’s highest degree.
Temptation is there like a cruel animal’s hidden trap,
Or disguised as lovely or good, deceit around you wrap,
But we are given discernment to guide us the right way,
‘Get thee behind me Satan’ are words we call all say.
When a choice is there before you, just stop and pray,
That way you know things will go the honest way,
Do not let Satan beguile you with words sweetly said,
Always keep a hymn or prayer running in your head.
We have so many tools our agency to wisely use
So we can all the time Satan’s tempting’s to refuse,
Agency can be the impelling force leading us above,
A gift to help us grow wise from a Father full of love .
