MY GERANIUM
The geranium looked almost dead at a quick glance,
I thought I would look after it and give it a chance
To try and pull through, that was two years ago,
Three half dead leaves and one bud only did show.
With tender loving care it grew, by Christmas time
It was looking rather healthy, a flower did shine
Bright red, a small gift for my tender loving care,
By spring it was full of green leaves so very fair.
Through the summer it grew, we needed a bigger pot
For by the fall to bring in it had grown quite a lot.
All through the winter it grew gave us flowers a few,
From the little dying things many shoots it grew.
I gave away some cutting away at the start of spring,
And replanted it outside, its over taken everything,
This year we will need at least five pots for indoors,
Its growth I feel needs a big round of applause
There it grows in beauty taking up a large garden patch,
Many long stems which we can easily yet carefully detatch,
Maybe a few of my friends can share this beautiful flower,
To bring them joy and liveliness for many a long hour.
