        MY BIRTHDAY GIFTS
Most of the family together on the special day,
But Dave and Sharon’s family live too far away,
But we thought of them as we gathered around,
There was such a happy feeling everywhere found.

I had a lovely tapestry jacket so beautiful to see,
A gorgeous bud vase joined the crystal gallery,
A crystal mouse that sparkles with a tail so curly
A bracelet, Blackpool rock, my head was rather squirly.

Then the big box wrapped in paper of lovely blue,
I tried to take my time, but that plan fell through,
There lay a lovely table cloth and napkins as well,
Just one look and I loved it, as everyone could tell.

It will fit the table when all the leaves are placed in,
A table cloth that many good comments will surely win,
I can see it set with best china and crystal wear that shines,
It is also washable so spills will be free from my whines.

I had a great birthday, I’m told there’s flowers to come,
Many cards and phone calls, even house work has been fun,
So thank you dear family and friends for making it so good,
It was good being seventy, I’d repeat it over again if I could.
