NIGHT SKY GAZING
When everywhere is quiet, the earth gone to rest
And the sun has long since sailed gently to the west,
The stars are twinkling in the deep velvet sky
That is when on warm nights I like to silently lie,
Gaze up above and look at the stars that shine,
Watch the moon her stealthy pathway climb.
Maybe see a falling star, wonder where it lands,
Try and count the stars, as numerous as the sand.
Do it out in the country where silence is found
And your gently beating heart the only sound,
Save for the night hunters that maybe round about,
A feeling of being close to heaven without a doubt.
