        THOUGHTS ON THE FORGET-ME-NOT
Clusters of tiny flowers of vivid blue, gazing gently up at you,
Five minuscule petals arranged in a ring seem to grow anew
Each day, as they share the garden with much bolder flowers,
Small, yet strong they can withstand bright sun and hard showers.

These delightful sweet flowers and the special name they carry,
Remind me of those now departed, those who no longer tarry
With us but have found their peaceful rest in heaven above,
Friends and loved ones whom I will remember with love.

I saw some growing in the temple garden, just like mine,
Although that was a much bigger bunch, weeded just fine,
Maybe they are there to remind us of all the work to be done,
That we should not forget the great battle that needs to be won

Five small petals to make one tiny flower, say’s in it’s own way
That to enter the temple we should strive to remember each day
Those now departed who cannot do nothing but sit and wait,
So the first petal is service as we enter through the temple gate.

Maybe the others are to seek out our dead, not forget them at all,
Then be worthy to enter that holy place, and hear the Master call,
The other two petals to make the forget-me-not flower is up to you,
Mine, never forget the Master, remember who I am my life through.

Look in the temple grounds and see the forget-me-nots growing,
Remember the covenants and the seeds we both are sowing,
For as the forget-me-not spread seeds so expand their beauty,
Let us look at those tiny sweet flowers and forever do our duty.
