FUN SHOPPING
A funny happenstance today came my way,
It was in a parking lot, extra food nearly came my way,
My green Cavalier with a APYY number plate
Caused some confusion as I will now relate.
A Ford car with APYY and the same shade of green
On the big parking lot could also plainly be seen,
The number being 028, was the one I’d looked for far,
After shopping I noticed someone heading for my car,
A big pile of groceries seemed to be coming my way,
She opened my back seat door and I must say
I was surprised, but realised what had gone wrong,
Two green cars close by in the massive car throng.
‘Thanks for the groceries’ I said with a big wide grin,
‘Which car was it you meant to put those groceries in?’
‘I didn’t think I had a mouse on my passenger safety belt,’
I can just imagine how uncomfortable she really felt.
I helped her fill her buggy and we parted with a smile
And I went on smiling happily for many a long mile.
