FRUITS OF THE HARVEST
Last year in early summer the family came to stay,
The one with small children, in the garden we did play,
One game they seemed to like the best and lots of fun
Was blowing dandelion seeds about till all were done.
Laughter filled the warm summer air so did every seed,
And they must have landed close again, with no heed
Of the trouble they would cause when spring came again,
I think that dandelion seeds fell on us with all the rain.
For you should see our back garden with yellow everywhere,
A lovely sight to see, a lovely bright carpet beyond compare,
They are even in the flower beds competing for space there,
They really seem to want their beauty with us to share.
Oh yes, we are now reaping the harvest of last years fun,
The dandelions really had their spreading battle easily won,
With two small children and their grandparents as well,
Huffing and puffing, but hoping far they would then dwell.
