I LOVE TO SING CAROLS
I love to sing the carols of Christmas joy and cheer,
Sing praises of thanksgiving and feel Jesus so near,
Most of the lovely words many of us know by heart,
I am always a little sad when the season does depart.
I wish I could sing carols more than just once a year,
Though December we can sing out loud and clear,
Yet on the sixth of April by myself I always sing
All the carols to worship Christ the new born King.
I can imagine the angels praising God in heaven above,
I want to shout Hosanna for my heart is filled with love,
Every note I raise in anthems my being bursts with joy
At the divine birth of Jesus Christ that precious baby boy.
If I play the hymns all through I dont miss the carols out,
I play and I sing them with all my might, my heart does shout,
But those who may hear me may not understand my ways,
For I just want to sing sweet Christmas carols all my days.
Id love to join a choir, Messiah and other anthems to sing,
Join with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, let the rafters ring,
Or join any chorus that sings praises from deep down within,
It is with that sort of singing that I always want to join in.
It will always be Christmas right down somewhere in me,
I hope I can sing my favourite carols through all eternity,
Maybe Ill be able to inspire words or music not yet known,
To our Father and Jesus and one day be welcome at their throne.
