JESUS AND THE CHILDREN
Suffer the little children to come unto me
Jesus said, though tired, in all sincerity,
I wonder what he told them in sweet love,
Did He tell of the joy in heaven above?
Did they gather flowers as a small gift?
Did He smile as on His knee He did lift
One or two, and others stood at His sid?
We know His love He could never hide.
I pray that I may become as a child,
Find their humility and how to be mild,
Have the faith to listen at His side
Then His sweet love He will not hide.
