MUSIC TO MY EARS
Many things are like sweet
music to my ears,
Some fill me with emotion
and tender tears
Flow, like the laughter of
children at play,
Or the cry of a brand new baby
just come our way.
The voice of a loved one coming
in from the cold,
The purr of a kitten that you love
to gently hold.
The symphony of the sea as perfect
time it always keeps,
The call of the seagulls as they
swoop and sweep
Close to the cliffs where the wind
ever calls my name,
Beaconing me to come and wander
along there again.
Even the stair, third from the top,
that always creeks,
All these are sweet music that my
heart forever keeps.
I love music played on all instruments
sweet and fair,
But it is the sounds of love that
I really need to share.
