        A PAIN IN THE BACK
For a few days now I’ve had a pain in my back,
In the lower lumbar region which is hard to hack,
It’s hard to sit down and worse to stand again,
Hands and knees the position low things to gain.

Getting out of the tub, is quite a funny sight to see,
On all fours to get to stand, then struggle to be free
From spending all day in the tub, I grab the towel rail
With one hand, swing a leg, aim for the loo with my tail,

Getting in and out of the car seems to take me forever ,
The grunts and groans are very strange as I endeavour
To fasten or undo my seat belt, it even makes me smile,
And if I laugh too hard I hurt and in pain for many a mile.

Kneeling to peek in the oven for I’m too sore to bend,
Then needing the oven mitt at the kitchen’s other end,
I seem to drop things more often when by back is out,
All the pots and pans hide and make me want to shout.

My back is getting better just a little bit each new day,
I know pretty soon, I hope, all the pain will go away,
And I’ll be as right as rain, and back to the gym will go,
But at the moment I only have one speed, that is very slow.
