GHANA’S TEMPLE OF THE LORD
Nothing of this standard and beauty has been built before
In this land of Ghana for humble saints their God to adore,
A temple of the Lord, painstakingly fashioned day by day
Until through many trials this great structure came to stay.

Granite from another country did not seem to be right at all,
One from Africa itself to construct that building grand and tall
Should be found, stone of great beauty they did want to choose
In Namibia a perfect granite, this change they could not loose.

Found in some half-forgotten place across a desert hot and dry,
Came a stone called Namibian Pearl with beauty to make you cry,
A perfect stone to build a home for our great God and King,
To glow in warmth and radiance and many blessings bring.

Strong woods from other countries would not work out well,
For in the Ghana’s climate only certain trees can safely dwell,
So the pretty makore tree with it’s unusual checkered grain,
Will, stained as mahogany, within the temple gracefully reign.

Diamonds speaks of Africa, so to stay within this theme
Woven kente fabric as made for generations will be seen,
Gracing the temple with the patterned diamond all around
A symbol, like the turtle where true wisdom is to be found.

Now faithful saints who within these temple bound dwell
Come, sing, rejoicing shout His praises, ALL IS WELL,
Feast upon the beauty and learn the way back home
Ready to live in heaven and never from His to roam.
