        HEAVEN SEEMS NEAR
Sometimes heaven appears to me so very near,
Angelic voices often sound at times so very clear,
You hear it in the morning chorus as you awake,
In the sighing of the leaves as a walk you take,
In the gentle lapping sound of a peaceful lake,
And the sweet gurgling a stream does make.
The crackle of a warm fire with family around,
These would be just how heaven would sound.

Heaven seems near when fragrance is in the air,
In spring time when the flowers their beauty share,
Wafting on a cool breeze a sweet scent to make,
Just close your eyes and you’ll be at heaven gate.
The perfume from a rose or honeysuckle bloom,
And all the other flowers opened full by the noon
Day sun that shines bright like heaven’s glory,
The smell of the deep forest, that’s another story.

Sometimes heaven seems near on a cool fall day,
Filling the world with beauty in a breathtaking way.
When winter comes cloaking all things pure white,
Maybe this also is a glimpse of heaven to our sight,
To see a rainbow arch gracefully across the sky,
And the multi-coloured wings of birds flying by.
Surely the colours all year round show of His love
And more often than we think, show us heaven above.
