PEOPLE SAID
When we first dated people said it would not last,
That after a few months the sparkles would be past.
But love struck deep in our two hearts, they did beat
As one, yet we seemed different to those we’d meet.

When we were married people said it wont be long
Before these pair join the growing divorced throng,
Not very compatible they said, you just wait and see,
Most are parted, yet we’ll be together for eternity.

Yet in my love-lit eyes no differences could I find,
For learning to like what he liked closer we did bind,
And as he learned to do the same, alike we did grow,
Now after many years true loving harmony does show.

People said when children come, just you wait and see
They will of all responsibilities want to be set quite free,
For we loved to roam the countryside, go climbing too,
Yet with the birth of each child a deeper love showed trough.

It does not matter what people say, love will always win,
Show it by putting your partner first then love wont grow thin,
But grow ever stronger by giving one hundred percent,
And soon you’ll have a marriage that is from heaven sent.
