More poems about Music

        MY FAVOURITE MUSIC
This is the fourth time I’ve played this CD,
One of my most favorite it has to be,
It fills me with sweet peace and calm,
And a feeling of freedom from harm.

I want to dance and sing, shout for joy,
Cry with some lover who lost her boy,
Beg Tannhauser not to the devil go,
Sing the Prisoners Chorus full of woe.

Opera favorites, to feel with Carman
As the bull, strong, kills her only man,
Feel of Faust’s great fear and hate
As he comes to heaven’s closed gate.

Sad pleadings and also many happy voices,
A difference between good or bad choices,
Beautiful singers portraying each part,
Orchestras plucking the strings of my heart.

Listen to that soprano crying as she sings
With the torment that sin always brings,
Her the plea of the prisoners in deep pain,
The orchestra soothes, then again and again.

Thank you dear music for lessons to give
In such beauty to fill me while I live,
And If I make it to sweet heaven above
I am sure I’ll hear it again played with love.
