Session 3 - 27/1/03 (Special Holiday Bonus game)

(Its almost more fun sharing in the recap ... everyone shouting contributions like this is the stock Exchange ... or an Attribute Auction).

On a windswept plane, John finds himself standing before the demon that took him off earth. In his hand he holds the Demons sword. He had intended on taking the sword from it, only to find the Demon handing the sword to him. Confused, he now stands before the demon. The Demon kneels before John, and wishes to swear fealty, in exchange for being John's right hand Demon ... to lead John's army, and to drink the blood of John's enemies. And so, John names his Demon "Argath", and then names the sword "Mornblade". In return, John demands "unswerving loyalty". And the deal is forged. Argath reveals that they are currently in 'his pit' ... a place of safety. Argath invites John to visit with his 'Host' ... the army that is Johns (which Argath will lead) ... an army of 7' Demons. They roar with delight as John appears before them.
(Game note: Chris as a player is very jealous).
Argath and John 'go down in a burning ring of fire' ... as they leave this Rhyleah.

On Earth: Kianna, Miranda and William have left the Red Dragon. Kianna 'finds' them a car ... and they decide to leave Earth. And so, they start driving. The road below them changes to a silver path ... and the car changes with it. The road again changes to cobbled pavement, and the car splutters to a halt. Reality seems to stretch and strain in strange ways ... and looks weird in its coloration and tapestry. In the distance (about 12 Kilometers away), they can see a city. William helps himself to all the makeshift weaponry that he can from the car (Tyre Irons and Steel bars).
Meanwhile, Kianna goes through the car looking for other useful items (and, along with other things, finding a gun, first aid kit and a bag of Cocaine).
Along one horizon, a huge forest can be seen (about 10 Kilometers away).
Miranda, looking around herself, finds a nice case ... with a broken down sniper rifle, and a very nasty looking knife. Kianna used the first aid kit to do something with William's arm (still containing the bullet that John so kindly put there). Some very bloody activity results, eventually, in the bullet being removed and the wound being bandaged.

Within the walls of the Red Dragyn (on that other world), Wilhelm, before leaving, asks Shurity the name of the missing King ... "Kylanth". Kaleb confirms with Shurity that ears had not failed him, that he and Wilhelm are indeed brothers. Once the two leave the Red Dragyn, Wilhelm acquires them a roadbike. He suggests that they try traveling between the worlds on a bike (rather than on foot), and that they trying finding the others, rather than finding a place we think they might be at.
Passing an alleyway, we see Malcolm in a fight. After he deals with the muggers, he joins Kaleb and Wilhelm, and together the three boys head off to find Miranda.
After the road changes to silver, then cobble, they come across a Blue Jag, with Miranda, Kianna and an unconscious William gathered about it.

Miranda and Kianna are experimenting with some cards. Miranda seems confused by the fact that they will not allow the Telepathic communication she was expecting.

Wilhelm shares with everyone what he and Kaleb have learnt, and what his thoughts are. At that moment, a bolt of lightning and ball of flame heralds the arrival of John and his pet demon. Tension runs high, especially as Wilhelm moves to protect William from what he considers a new threat.
Kianna is trying to encourage everyone to move off for shelter, as Kaleb has predicted a major storm. Wilhelm is considering John, and trying to figure him and his motives out.
Kianna, John and Miranda (supporting William) start at a run towards yon forest. Malcolm convinces Wilhelm to join them ... as a cavalcade of Cavalry is seen in the distance coming towards them.

As they run, Wilhelm (holding the retreat) realises that Kaleb is missing, as others quickly do. Worried about this, the group nears the forest.
The sudden high-powered shot catches all their attentions. As the others keep running, Wilhelm, realising that Kaleb is under the Jag shooting at the cavalry, turns and starts running back.

With several more shots, the cavalry is sent running away.
Having arrived, Wilhelm goes over to one of the fallen cavalry. Taking off its mask, he sees they are ape people. When the downed apeman takes a swing, Wilhelm is caught of guard by its incredible strength, but renders it unconscious ... then brings it back to the car. With their prisoner, and two commandeered horses, they ride for the forest. It is consensus that we should run away to avoid the apeman cavalry ... that has regrouped, and is once again on its way.

John, valiantly leading the retreat into the woods, comes across many dirty humans running off deeper into the woods. Following the humans, John is lead up into a mountainous region and to a cavemouth. Miranda and Kianna, with William, follow up the rocky mountainside. Malcolm, Kaleb and Wihelm bring up the rear, and start climbing also.

As we reach the caves, the apes arrive at the bottom, and start climbing. Boulders and Bullets hail them from above, in an attempt to discourage the apes from coming up. John explains that he suspects there is a river or such within the mountain, and suggest we use it (following the humans) to hopeful safety.
With archers arriving to support the apes' climb, John and Kianna move into the cave, to check it out and start setting up defensive measures. William and Miranda have also entered the cave. Some glowing mystical letters in the air indicates that William has used magic ... that he claims is a defensive measure for himself.
As John's sword is glowing, he enters the pool of water he has found there at the back of the cave. Kaleb and Malcolm back up into the cave, quickly followed by Wilhelm on the defensive ... but with an arrow in his leg. As Kianna takes the gun, and kills a few apes, Wilhelm quickly bandages his leg. Then, taking the gun back, he covers everyone else as they enter the water, and then enters himself. The pond is a freshwater sinkhole, which goes down then evens out further down ... following a U bend to arrive in an isolated cavern within the mountain.

John, then William, arrives at this destination ... the cave is filled with humans ... who have spears pointed at them. Miranda, then Malcolm, Kianna, then Kaleb, and finally Wilhelm break the surface of the pool in this new cave. (Malcolm seems disinterested in exiting the pool, but Kianna encourages him to do so).

This cave has the lived in feel, with cooking fire and all. As the group takes the time to investigate their surroundings, Wilhelm gets ready to defend against anyone else coming up through the waterhole.

John meets an old lady named VIC (Victoria) who speaks English. Kaleb, Kianna and Miranda tend to Wilhelm's wound.

John tells Vic that he comes from the tribe "Ennesay", and learns that these are the "Hill People". He learns that the apes hunt the humans for slaves, and that being caught with a weapon is immediate execution. His glowing sword draws much attention.

Because healers were sent for, an elderly man turns up ... who proceeds to deal with Wilhelm's wound. Food arrives, and of course goes first to Kaleb. Kaleb is watching those around him, and trying to at least pick up the concepts of their language.

Vic reveals that Apes cannot swim. The free humans live here, off the land as best they can. While captive/slave humans must work for the apes in their cities. While there are many more humans than apes, humans cannot compete with the strength of the apes.

The rain that comes outside, answering the prayers of the humans (as the apes disdain water, and will not come out during the rain).

While William goes over into a corner and starts glowing, Kianna attempts to catch a good look at John's new sword (which, by the way, has clicked a few times in its sheath). When she mentions that it is a nice sword, it groans.

With the anesthetic qualities of the herbs in his wounds, and the cocaine Kianna provided, Wilhelm sits and watches as the doctor sews his wound shut.

At Wilhelm's request, Kaleb accompanies two humans back to the cave looking for ape bodies and their weapons. Unfortunately, the apes took their fallen with them.

The doctor has since moved over to William, and begins working on William's arm ... and sews it up, as he did Wilhelm's leg.

Kaleb arrives back from the pool with Wilhelm's boots and jacket ... and a dufflebag of very wicked medieval weapons. This dufflebag, and the room of armour we would soon discover, seem to have appeared from nowhere ... and are very suspicious. Both the weapons, and soon to be found armour, are extremely gothic and brutal in design.

While all this is disconcerting, it is agreed that we need to get out of here before dawn ... before the ape reinforcements arrive and trap us in the cave.
Wandering around, Malcolm, then others, find a chamber of armour ... and start helping themselves to that which is there.

Wilhelm talks with Vic about his thoughts that they all (including the humans) need to have vacated the cave before the ape army arrives. Vic reveals that she expects us ... 'the Fell one' (John) and his host ... to stay and destroy the ape city. She believes that is their purpose here.

Calling upon Argath, John tells him to prepare the host ... to which Argath hands John a horn, and instructs him in its use to summon the host.

John and Kaleb start 'weapon training' so Kaleb can get used to having a weapon in his hand. It ends with John slipping and falling into the pool. When Kaleb tries to help him out, he pulls Kaleb in with him.
Quickly, Wilhelm draws a knife, and slides in after them.

As Kaleb and John scramble out of the pool, Wilhelm feels a current in the water, and believes he sees the shadow of something serpentine deep below. He follows his brothers out of the water.

Meanwhile, Kianna has located some kind of device, and talks with Vic about it, its origins, and the 'undying' who brought it. The undying seems to be us ... as it appears that we have been here before, several generations ago. At which time, we destroyed another Ape city.

Kianna, touching the device, gets an impression of William landing a spaceship ... and feels some connection between that William and the device she holds. Although William is once again doing his chanting meditation, Kianna tries to interrupt. Her presence is unignorable, and it causes him to loose control of his mystic doings. They tussle for a moment, which ends with the two standing off against each other. At Kianna's request, William goes with her to investigate the device.

As dawn approaches, they prepare to leave. Kianna seems interested in helping the humans by attacking the apecity. John and William, for their own reasons, also wish to do so. As Miranda, Wilhelm, Malcolm and Kaleb seem ambivalent, it is decided that we will aid the humans as such.
A ripple on the surface of the water causes worry. Kianna enters the water, against Wilhelm's advice. When she reaches the other entrance, she finds Kaleb there, looking out into the rainy night.

On mass (with the humans) we move on out. The intent is for us all to head for the apecity ... and take the attack to the enemy.
