3. Why can’t they get the humvee to come to Blackburn? Why aren’t the people helping Blackburn by giving him covering fire? 4. The feeling was, after six weeks of diddling around they were finally going to kick some serious Somalia ass. This line lets you know how the men felt about going to Somalia. It shows that they have no fear and are ready to fight. They are tired of sitting around and doing practice missions and this is there chance to do what they are trained to do. 5. I can’t believe that Blackburn fell out of the helicopter. When I read it I was shocked because they had done so much practice for these missions and Blackburn can’t even get out of the helicopter. When I read it I was shocked because they had done so much practice for these missions and Blackburn can’t even get out of the helicopter without getting hurt. If I was Blackburn I would have made sure I didn’t rush out of the helicopter and fall. His situation could have easily been avoided if he would have not tried to rush out of the helicopter. Assault-Act 1, Scene 2 2. The significance of this scene is when U.S. forces capture the people they where here to get. They were there to capture two of Muhammad Aidid's lieutenants and they got them. Without this part in the scene you would think that the Rangers don't know what they are doing if they can’t catch who they were there for. 3. What happens to Blackburn during this scene? Why won't the Rangers just shoot the kids who are trying to get them killed? 4. There had been so many close calls and near misses. This line tells you just how bad it is for the Rangers and Delta Force. You know they are in a war zone and this line reminds you about what they are going through. 7. I feel that the Rangers are going easy on the Somalis. One of the Rangers is getting shot at because some kids are directing the shooter. All the Ranger does is shoot at the kids feet to scare them away. If that was me I would have shot those kids because by killing them you could save your life and the life of your fellow Rangers. Assault-Act 1, Scene 3: 5. I was surprised when one of the Black Hawk helicopters got shot down. I was surprised because throughout scene one and two they were doing a good job and they seemed invincible. When the Black Hawk got shot down it was like a reality check for me that the Black Hawks can get shot down by some Somalis. 6. All of the Rangers seem to be really close. They have endured lot of physical and emotional stress and are still able to keep there cool towards one another. They also never talk crap to each other when things get serious. They would also lay there own life on the line if it meant saving someone in there group. 7. I feel sorry for the Ranger stuck the the wrecked Black Hawk. He is being shot at from all directions and he is greatly outnumbered with nobody there to help him. Then to make matters worse he gets shot in the shoulder. I don't know what I would do if I where him. I would personally be scared to know what to do.the life of your fellow Rangers. Act 2 Logs Act. 2 Scene 1 1. In this scene the rangers are really making the Somalis angry. The rangers keep flyings blackhawks above the city and the wind from the helicopters are blowing roofs off of houses and clothign off of women.. One of blackhawaks gets shot down with and RPG fired by a Somali. The blackhawk went down in the middle of the city. During the raids the rangers do through the city one of the rangers goes crazy by shotting every Somali he saw who had a gun or was running to the fight. He was kililng so many Somali's that he was running out of ammunition. 2. I think the significance of this scene is when the blackhawk gets shot down by an RPG. The helicopter landed right in the middle of the city where everyone could see it and word spread fast. Without this part in the scene you would think that the blackhawks can't be stopped by the somalis. When the blackhawk gets shot down by a Somali with and RPG you realize how vulnerable the blackhawks really are. This part in the scene also shows you that the Somalis can and will find ways to take down blackhawks |

Assault-Act 1, Scene1: 1. The first scene had most of it’s action during the end of the scene. At the beginning of scene one you get an introduction to the characters and you get an explanation of what different parts of the military are involved. You learn about Rangers, Navy Seals, and other parts of the Militia. As the scene progresses the Rangers are getting ready for their mission that will take them into Somalia to capture two of Muhammad Aidid’s lieutenants. The Black Hawks got to the target, which is a white building, and drop off the soldiers. One of the soldiers known as Blackburn misses the rope and falls seventy feet straight to the ground. He gets very badly injured and is helped by a medic. Blackburns injuries are potentially fatal so they need to get him out. The battle rages on between Somalis and U.S. forces. They find it difficult to get Blackburn to safety with all that is going on. Two men try to take him to a nearby humvee, but they have to keep putting Blackburn down and picking him back up to return fire. They decide it will kill Blackburn if they have to keep doing this so one of them runs to the tanks to try to get one of them to come to Blackburn. 2. The significance of this scene is Blackburn falling out of the helicopter. Without this part in the scene it wouldn’t be as interesting. When Blackburn falls out of the helicopter it kind of gets you more interested in what is going on because your wondering what happened to him. |
