In Somalia 93-94 Because of BHD

Q. What was your whole opinion of the war in Somalia?
A. I thought that this war was poorly executed we could have done better.
Q. What was the Somalia war about?
2. A. It was like the Somalis were having there own civil war between the people and a warlord.

Q. What was your assignment?
3. A. well our whole goal was basically to restore peace in Somalia.

Q. Why do you think the war was poorly executed?
4. A. because they sent the marines in there to take care of business and we did but as soon as we left everything went wrong so they put us back in there.

Q. Where you proud to be in Somalia?
5. A. yes I was because I knew I was helping people.

Q. What were the opinions of Somalis towards the marines?
6. A. well they were usually negative comments like we were bad marines and things like that.

Q. What kind of rules did you have to follow?
7. A. the most important rule probably the rules of engagement which says do not fire unless fired upon

Q. What if you didn’t follow that rule?
8. A. you could be severely punished.

9. Q. where you ever scared?

A. Not necessarily scared more nervous and anxious.
Q. Do you think you made a difference in Somalia?
10. A. I really think we did.
