Aarohan - How Will it Function? Aarohan AFNA

AAROHAN...where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, where knowledge is free…..

HOW WILL AAROHAN FUNCTION?

An Executive Committee will be appointed by the Trust for the management of Aarohan. This committee will be responsible for making all administrative and financial decisions. The committee will appoint a Program Director who will supervise and coordinate all day to day activities of the center. Various sub-committees consisting of highly qualified individuals will be set up to design and formulate the activities for the children.

Aarohan will have a selected staff of permanent employees to maintain its everyday activities. The center will enlist the help of qualified volunteers to assist with various programs - mostly parents and high school and college students. Dr. Saikia dedicated Aarohan to the children of the society and it was his desire that the institution be nurtured by the society in a way that every family that becomes a part of Aarohan will play a role in moving Aarohan forward.

Aarohan will be financially self sufficient - the state of the art auditorium on the 4th floor will be made available for rent and the funds collected from this will provide for the majority of the expenses of Aarohan. Although most activities will be free of charge, formal music and dance lessons will be fee-based solely to support the respective teachers. Memberships/ tickets will be available on a voluntary basis. Donations and sponsorships will contribute towards expenses.

Apart from children in the locality, Aarohan will be open to individual children and families who may make a onetime visit or visit on a regular basis. Organised trips from schools and clubs will be possible.

THE FUTURE

Dr. Saikia hoped that a day will come when every town and village will have a Aarohan where children will spend time in a constructive manner and learn the values and skills that will form the foundation of their character and in turn have a lasting impact on society.
