Spidey keeps Cobra out of Hyde's hands long enough to plant a spider tracer on Cobra. Hyde escapes with Cobra, but Spidey catches up with him and actually defeats Hyde.

Underworld informant Nose Norton, with inside information that could link the Brand Corporation and Roxxon Oil in illegal activities, has disappeared. J. J. Jameson wants him found and mobilizes the Daily Bugle staff. However, the Tarantula also has an interest in Norton. Spidey drops by to rescue Norton, but while he's busy fighting the Tarantula, Norton is shot.

Synopsis:

Peter uses a graduate recruiting session to investigate the local Brand Corporation complex since other Brand installations have been attacked. As Spidey, he comes across a secret project to boost the Tarantula's powers. Before he's able to intervene, the Will-O'-The-Wisp, out for revenge against Brand, attacks. Spidey manages to calm down Will-O'-The-Wisp, but by then the new Tarantula emerges as a part-spider monster.

Synopsis:
  
Spidey faces off against the Tarantula, who's become part monster, but the Will-O'-The-Wisp joins in. The Will-O'-The-Wisp and Tarantula take the battle off site.  Spidey does some investigating and visits the director of the Brand Corporation, James Melvin. However, the Will-O'-The-Wisp beat him to it and wants to kill Melvin. Then the Tarantula joins the party!

Spidey battles both the Will-O'-The-Wisp and the Tarantula to keep them from killing Melvin. However, the Tarantula continues to change into a monster and kills himself because he can't live this way. The Will-O'-The-Wisp listens to Spidey and turns Melvin over to the police. Melvin's confession forces Roxxon Oil to shut down all the Brand Corporation.

Synopsis:

Wilbur Day, aka the Stilt-Man, frustrated by his recent defeats decides to take on Spider-Man because he's the only hero he has defeated. Day breaks into one of Stark's manufacturing plants to build his new armor which draws Spidey's attention. Spidey battles the Stilt-Man and is injured preventing the Stilt-Man from being hurt. The Stilt-Man recognizes Spidey's heroic and leaves both he and the plant unharmed.

Synopsis:

Spidey helps round up some bank robbers, but one of them gets away. The bank robber stumbles upon of the Green Goblin's secret hideouts and reveals it to a mysterious figure. This mysterious figure destroys the hideout, after taken the Green Goblin's secrets of course, and ties up the loose ends, i.e. the bank robber. He then dons a costume based on the Green Goblin's original costume and assumes the identity of the Hobgoblin.

Synopsis:

The Hobgoblin pulls off another raid of Osborn Chemicals which draws Spidey's attention. Spidey does a bit of investigating which leads to his first run-in with the Hobgoblin. Spidey proves to be more powerful than the Hobgoblin expected and he is forced to withdraw.
