Her father is actor Keith Wegeman, a former olympic long-jump skier who gained fame as television's Jolly Green Giant, and mother is Judith Lang, a television, film and commercial actress. Her grandfather was Charles Lang, a famous motion picture cinematographer

Her husband's name is Alex D'Andrea, he is an independent producer and father of her infant daughter, Zoe Katrina. She has 2 older sons by her former husband director Skott Snider, Julian and Jeremy, who played little Eric jr. in the B&B

She graduated from Beverly Hills High School, at that time she was more interested in jockeying and competing in Olympic Games than being an actress.

 Katherine started her career with the movie Skatetown,USA, then she did guest appearences in tv shows Magnum PI,, Crazy Like a Fox, Masquerade , Happy Days , and several Last Precinct shows. She appeared in the Showtime mini series Training Camp...First and Ten. Her daytime debut was The Young and the Restless, in which she played Gretchen. Katherine also starred in Discovery Bay ,a horror movie The Nightstalker, a Disney movie Mr Boogedy, a feature movie Til the End of the Night, TV series Lonesome Dove and all Beach Boys music videos.

Katherine was nominated in 1990 for "Outstanding Heroine" for the Soap Opera Digest Awards and has received two consecutive "M.V.P. Awards", given annually by Soap Opera Update Magazine.

Katherine's favorite actor is Robert de Niro, actress is Jessica Lang, she loves the movie Wuthering Heights and enjoys listening Hootie and the Blowfish.

Katherine loves sports and outdoors. She plays tennis , windsurfs, rides mountain bike and of course rides her lovely horses. She loves horses very much and has several horses with which she competes in 25 mile and 50 mile cross-country endurance races. Katherine jogs and takes dance classes too.
