In my humble opinion, Jcob nicely explains the need for the LNC to launch a lawsuit, discovery, and testimony under oath to determine the extent of and to gain restitution for a number of corrupt transactions between the LNC, Harry Brown's two campaigns, and several individuals.
Unfortunately, he also makes the case that the LNC can't do it. Given the LNC's record over the last 5 years, they might publicly retain an attorney and publicly tell him to dig while privately telling him not to find anything. More likely, the LNC wil do nothing and hope it blows over.
There's another way. Any member of the national LP during this period, roughly 1995 through 2000, or, I think, any state affiliated party, has standing to bring suit against any of these parties. A group of national LP members could combine funds to retain an attorney and proceed. A suit brought by members is more likely to be productive than one that is essentially the LNC investigating itself once more.
